Gustav and Victoria from Bendixen Dans delivered an excellent performance at Sunday’s open standard dancesport competition at the Winter Dance Festival. The dancesport-couple had traveled from Copenhagen to Mülheim an der Ruhr, where they secured an impressive fourth place at the WDSF Open U21 Standard World Ranking tournament. This result marks their second final place in an U21 Open tournament, following their first successful appearance in Varna in September.
In the competition, they competed against couples from countries such as Germany, Slovakia, Italy and France. Many of these couples rank significantly higher in the international U21 rankings, which only makes their fourth place all the more impressive. At Bendixen Dans, we are proud that we in Copenhagen can nurture talents in dancesport such as Gustav and Victoria, who are now shining as rising stars on the international dancesport scene.
From national to international dancesport
2023 was the year when Gustav and Victoria really moved to the international dancesport scene, with participation in competitions in Italy, Bulgaria, Holland, Poland and Germany. With their impressive results this year, including the most recent performance in Mülheim an der Ruhr, we expect to see a significant rise in the world rankings. They are likely to move up more than 50 places and place right around the top 50. Although the rankings have not yet been updated, it is clear that Gustav and Victoria are a couple that have the potential to go far in standard dancesport.
With their continued success in the U21 category, where they will continue to compete in the coming year, there are high expectations for their continued journey. Their performances so far bode well for their future participation in international competitions, and they are undoubtedly a couple that both the local dancesport community in Copenhagen and the international dance community will follow with excitement and admiration.
Congratulations to Gustav and Victoria on your impressive results!
