“A great performance” can easily be said about the European tour that two Bendixen Dans couples undertook in the past two weekends. Here, they took over the dance floors at two prestigious tournaments in Europe: The Open World in Blackpool, England and the Berlin Ball in the German capital.
Elegance and Excellence in Blackpool
Blackpool, with its many traditions of dancesport, once again hosted The Open World, where our own Marcus and Daria took the crowd by storm. In the legendary Tower Ballroom, where the floor has been touched by countless masters of dance throughout the ages, they showed dancing at its best accompanied by live music from the Len Philips Orchestra.
On Saturday they competed in the Junior category and secured a good second place. Sunday had even more success in place when they achieved third place in the U19 category and were even placed second in quickstep. The day was completed when they were selected to represent Ukraine in the Team Match as a Youth couple.
Albert and Celina were unstoppable as they danced their way to the top with a first place in the Junior U16 Superstar Slow Foxtrot Challenge and continued to impress with further top finishes in subsequent competitions. Here they won second place in Junior U16 Superstar Rising Star Ballroom, sixth place in Junior U16 Superstar Ballroom and fifth place in Junior U16 Superstar Samba Challenge.
Berlin Ball – A dancesport party
From historic Blackpool to vibrant Berlin, our couples continued their dancing journey to the Berlin Ball. Marcus and Daria, fresh from their success in Blackpool, dominated the U16 category by winning all five dances and again achieved an impressive third place in the U19 category.
Albert and Celina also took Berlin by storm after an inspiring camp where they were taught by some of the most renowned Latin instructors. They put in a strong performance in Latin U16, securing fifth place, confirming their position as a couple to watch out for on the international stage.
