In the historic city of Sibiu, with its cobbled streets and Gothic architecture, the Transylvanian Grand Prix, which is among the biggest tournaments of the WDSF, was held again this year. The competition is known for its high standard and attracts dancers from all over the world, and the participating couples from Bendixen Dans certainly did not disappoint.
World Open Standard and Latin
Dumitru & Melissa continued their successful season with an 11th place in the World Open Standard and a 15th place in the World Open Latin. Their dynamic style stood out, even in a field of strong international competitors where there were 12 seeded star pairs in both tournaments who could “make do” with dancing from the 2nd round.
Alexander & Mie were incredibly close to the semi-finals of the World Open Standard, finishing in an unfortunate 13th place, just three marks away from advancing. They showed good dancing throughout the competition – a performance they can be proud of. A good warm-up for the European Championships in Standard, which they will participate in for the first time on 2nd of December in Lithuania. Dans Danmark’s sports director, Per Lundsgaard, was able to deliver the happy news about their qualification during the competition in Sibiu.
Finals in Youth and Rising Stars
Tobias & Aleksandra made a strong impression in Youtudgh Standard with a third place, where several judges marked them 2nd place in front of the current Vice-European Champions who as second in the competition. In Youth Latin, they achieved a surprising seventh place, only three marks from the final, which they could easily have been a part of. They were able to get a rematch in the adult ranks when they participated in the World Open Latin. Here they achieved 36th place, defeating several couples from the Youth final and placing them only three places behind the Romanian champion who won the Youth Latin competition.
Lucas & Amalie showed their strength as a 10-dance couple by reaching the finals in Rising Star Standard with a seventh place finish and a tenth place in Rising Star Latin. Their performances in the World Open Standard and Latin, where they achieved a 34th and a 51st place respectively, with a total of 94 entries. These results testify to their increasing form curve and potential.
Emil & Laura reached the semifinals of Rising Stars Standard, where they danced their way to a great 9th place, close to the final. In World Open Standard finished a respectable 36th place. Very good results in the strong field and after a long period unfortunately without international competitions from their side.
