Last Saturday, Pavel & Charlotte represented Denmark at the WDSF World Championships in adult 10 dance. Although the couple are ranked third in the Danish rankings, they were given the opportunity to represent Denmark at this prestigious event. With only a week’s preparation after being nominated by the Danish federation, the couple nevertheless showed an impressive performance.
The championship was held in Vila Nova de Famalicão, near the famous port city of Porto, and the organizers had done their best to create such a perfect backdrop for this international championship. Pavel & Charlotte danced well from the start in the strong field of the world’s top 10 dancers. They finished a fine 25th, just four judges’ marks from qualifying for the quarter-finals.
Although it is always a pity to place so close to the next round, the result is fully approved – especially in relation to the couple’s young age, championship experience and short preparation time.
It was the first time the couple took part in a World Championship in the adult category. Last year, Pavel & Charlotte participated in all three U21 World Championships, where they danced their way to a 21st place in standard.
Congratulations to Pavel & Charlotte on their great performance at the WDSF World 10-Dance Championships. We have made a compilation of some of the highlights from Pavel and Charlotte’s World Championship debut.
